MJFF offers volunteer and internship opportunities for people in the metro NY area wishing to donate their time to help find a cure for Parkinson's disease.

Volunteers

From time to time MJFF has a need for a selected few volunteers in our New York City office. Computer literacy and a minimum commitment of eight hours per month are required. If you are interested in joining MJFF as a volunteer please send your resume and cover letter to:

Internships

MJFF internship program provides college students with hands on experience in a fast paced, entrepreneurial non-profit organization. Interns may work in a number of different departments during their internship in order to gain a well-rounded perspective of the organization. MJFF hires approximately three interns for each academic semester and summer. Internships are unpaid and may be either full or part time. Course credits may be available so please check with your academic institution.

What are we looking for in an intern?
Interns should be interested in gaining an understanding of the basic mechanisms of non-profit organizations. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work on multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Word and Excel and strong attention to detail is required.

Digital Strategy Intern

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research has an exciting learning opportunity available as a Digital Strategy Intern. Technology plays a key role in engaging with and informing donor, patients and the research community. The Foundation is currently focused on a web site redesign, greater engagement on Social Media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), and tracking metrics to determine success. To help us tackle these challenges, the Digital Strategy Team is looking for an intern that shares our passion of using the Internet and technology to make a difference. This position will report to the Web Product Manager and will be at least 3 days a week. This internship will begin immediately and will continue to the end of December depending on the candidates’ schedule. All interns are paid a $15 stipend per day. Our general business hours are 9am to 6pm.

This position will report to the Director, Marketing & Communications. This internship is available immediately and depending in the candidates schedule can continue through the summer. The Foundation is always looking for smart, determined individuals who would like to participate in an internship with us.
